This walkthrough is for anyone who needs help in beating the game or wants to know easy ways to get through certain sections. For speedrunners, this could be also be especially helpful, since I (Sonicastle) speedrun this game myself. I will think some ways are easier or better than others, but I'll try to include every way possible which you can try, and then you can find the method that suits you most. I will only include advice for the more challenging parts of the game, or for ways to get through them faster.

Level 1

This part may be the first place you'll to have a problem with. You need to jump over the spikes, but if you touch the coin box, it will spawn coins which can kill you. Do not try to jump over the box, since it will go up and ram you into the spikes above. There are some ways to do it:

Easy ways: One way is to just jump and hope that you won't touch the falling coins. However, an easier way is to wait for a help.

This help only appears after you have died (at least for me). When you died, go as near as possible to the rock before the spiked and wait. You'll notice a green box coming to you which will go through the spikes and stop next to the rock. Jump on the box when possible. Go right if the box doesn't move when you are on top. This will push the box and you go through the spikes and the coin boxes easily.

The only difficulty could be to not touch the coin box while trying to land on the green box, but this is perhaps the most easiest way to go through.

Medium and fast: This is, in my opinion, harder than the way before because the timing needs to be right, but it won't be hard to learn it.

To get through, you let yourself fall onto the platform with the spikes (while still holding right) and then after you touched the ground jump (still pressing right). With this you shouldn't touch the coin box but still jump over the spikes.

This part is one where it's kinda obvious what to do, but doesn't seem to work properly. If you managed to move the green box to the right and try to jump but can't, spam the jump button (and hold to right), if still not able to go through, land on the box and try again.

Easy and fast way: Just ignore the green box and go to the wall. Then spam the jump button and hold to the right. Try it some time and the log will make enough room for Knightly to go through.

The easy way is just wait till the platforms arrive, as AIDE says. However, if you want to save some time, just run over the cliff and jump one time, then the second time. At this moment one box arrives and you can land safely on it. Be aware that you might have to train on the parts where the boxes are moving a lot faster later on.

Level 2

I have seen some who didn't get what AIDE was trying to say. If you have problems here, move to the right, let yourself fall a little, and then jump. After that you still have your second jump and can safely land on the log. Just jump immediately after touching it, since it will soon fall down.

Easy way: Here the falling from the ground and then jumping doesn't help much, you'll need the green box. Just jump on it and move a little to the right. The box begins to move and after it falls, jump before you go off the screen.

Faster way: Walk to the box and immediately after touching it jump. You'll land on the box as seen in the video.

Here I've seen some trying to remove the log to get the green box and use it for getting through the next gap. However, it's much easier and faster just to jump on the log and then immediately press right. It will move the log and then you just have to use your double jump the same as before.

Here is one part of the game where you don't really have an easy way. Just try to time your jumps or double jumps, but be aware that in the last part a double jump won't help you.

This is more of a general tip with any object that spins or activates when you press jump: Your character doesn't have to jump, you can always press the jump button and the boxes will spin even though you have used your double jump.

This part is now a little tougher, but easy learnable, since you just have to remember how many times to jump. Pay attention when the box will show towards the button his spikeless part. Jump as often before that when you actually jump (I recommend here not using double jump) the box will have his spikeless part down.

After that awaits you a big and very punishable jump. You can make it without using the double jump.

Then some monster will start chasing you. Immediately begin to run right, don't wait for them to appear. On your way will be boxes with spikes that turn with activating the jump button. Usually, and especially after you have died, you will have to jump for the first box 1 time, then 2 times, then 3 and then 2. (This depends if you were able to make the big jump without the double jump.) However, if it differs, just try to remember how many times you need to press the jump button the next time.

Level 3

Here begins the harder part of the game and almost every section of it will be talked about. Sadly, here you'll still have to learn in some parts and will die often even though you know how to go through the sections. After all the game isn't easy.

When you jump on the platforms the first time, you maybe were surprised of how unstable the platforms are. The general tips are: Try to land in the middle of them and/or jump immediately after touching them. Use your double jump only when needed, since it could save you from falling of the screen. And sometimes just try to jump even though you used your double jump. The hitboxes of the platforms are big and with accidently touching them you get often your double jump back.

Here you can have certain ways how to do it. I for myself do it that I jump on the first arriving platform and then only pay attention to the platforms moving upwards. You still need to look to not accidentally get disturbed of the other platforms moving downwards, but you'll have a pattern to follow through. When roughly above the middle of the screen, press right and after falling a little press jump. Stay roughly were the next uprising platform should appear and land on it when it appears. Use the double jump only when needed, it's there for keeping you longer in the air so the next platform can arrive.

Faster way: You only need the first two upmoving platforms, when high enough, press right, fall from it and use your double jump to skip the next upmoving platform.

After that you will get to something similar as the first one, but this time with sawblades. Here you have to try more to land on the middle of the platforms or use your jump and double jump carefully

This part will need precision and a good timing. You may have to train it, but I've seen some doing it the harder way then necessary.

Just try to jump, then make your double jump in the middle of falling and press right.

Here we have the same as the second section of this level, but this time the platforms are much faster. However, you can apply here the same strategy as before: Get the first platform and then only use the upmoving platforms the same way. For timing the jump to get the first platform: Jump when the platform just left the screen. At the time you arrive the next is already in place.

The tip for faster going through is also the same: You only need the first two uprising platforms.

Now we have also a similar situation, but now with sawblades. Interestingly I use the same strategy: Get on the first platform, then use only the upmoving platforms. You can go either under the sawblades or above them, I personally use under, but have seen some go upwards.

This is the part where you have to learn the timing and be precise without any real strategy. Maybe some general tips: Use double jump and don't stop moving. Somehow it's without stopping easier. However, if you are more comfortable with stopping, then do it.

This is the part which will take you the first time the longest, since it's a puzzle you need to solve. For solving it, hold the pause button and keep pressing, until a platform arrives at the right height.

Level 4

This is more of a general tip for any row of spikes with 5 of its kind. Jump between the second and third spikes, and you are guaranteed to get through.

When seeing this you may ask: "How can he stand on this falling blocks?" The answer is easy: They only fall when Knightly is in the middle of the blocks. You can use this to your advantage and try to touch them on the left halfs to get another double jump and get to the next ones.

This part has some weird physics it seems, but once you understood them it gets very easy. The blocks spin when you press the jump button (not only when Knightly is jumping). But they are moving so fast that when you are in the middle and press the jump button, the next spikes appear and kill you.

So for getting through easily you need to die first. This resets them so you have a standard way of how many times you need to jump. Make a double jump, then make another double jump and land on the left side of the block, which will be spike free. Important: Be as far left as possible. The block will spin there the most and shoot you up when you will press the jump button.

For the other boxes you make from now on double jumps too and land every time on the left side.

This part is hard, sadly you can only rely here on the right timing of the double jump. Generally it's mostly too early, so wait just a moment longer.

Important: Do not take the first tombstone aka. checkpoint after that. AIDE will tell you this also, but at the time you're happily jumping into it only to realize that it was a trap. You will get another tombstone immediately after that, which is safe to touch.

Now this part is a little similar to the one before, but only harder. I for myself don't look at where the moving sawblade are to jump, I have a way either after going straight into them or after dying another one.

When you get the checkpoint and do not stop moving right, the timing should be similar to the first one. However if you die, start it again and go immediately to it. Now you either wait a little and then have a similar jump point or jump immediately and jump the second time right after passing the first sawblades. You'll see all options in the videos:

Immediately without dying:

Immediately after dying:

After dying but with a short stop:

Here you're firstly introduced to the mechanic of the "spinning gun". It shoots whenever you press the jump button and you can make it spin with Knightly. However, the bullets can also kill you, so you have to be careful with it. The easiest way is to make the "spinning gun" spin very slowly and then spam the jump button while the bullets kill the enemies.

Here the first tombstone is safe and the second one is a trap.

Here we have one section which can be made in many different ways. Each has their own benefits.

The first "spin box" will spin the way how you touch the inner circle with Knightly. Mostly you had noticed it that after you touched it or landed on it suddenly the whole box begins to spin very fast.

There are two easy ways I had used before:

First of all land in the box without touching the circle. After that using double jump and softly touch the circle to make the box spin slowly counterclockwise. Make sure to not touch any spikes and the opening you entered with will be your exit.

Land in the box without touching the circle. Then move all the way left you can (You have to climb the little corner thing), then jump without moving any direction and then jump again at your highest while pressing right. You won't touch either the circle or spikes and you will be the other side of the box.

However, for being the fastest, you jump into the box and at slightly under the middle of the circle use the second jump to jump over the circle and under the spikes without touching them. You'll have to train that to be consistent with that, the timing part is a bit weird and hard to explain with words.

However, there are definitely some other ways to go through it and you don't have to make it necessarily in one of those ways.

The video has all the three ways but in the opposite order.

The second "spin box" moves from itself. Just make sure you don't land in there in the exit falling off the screen or on spikes, you can land on the circle too. I for myself try to get to the entrance as soon as possible and land on the circle thing, as seen in the video.

The third "spin box" has the same mechanic, but since it spins now clockwise and also has spikes on top, you can get killed there more easily. My tip would be to try to land on the circle.

On the iOS-version you'll see two tombstones after that. Both are safe.

This part is unforgiving. One mistake and you are dead. You'll have to time every jump right and make sure not to accidentally touch any sawblades (thanks, Captain Obvious). The general tip would be to not panic and only use double jump when necessary. When you are at the part with the downmoving platforms and have to jump through a small gap between a sawblade wall and got too far down, you can try to save yourself to a higher platform with a double jump from the left. However, this itself will be difficult too. Just train it and get better.

This section is randomized in a sense that the platforms appear in a random time. This wouldn't be much of a problem if there wouldn't be the last part of it where every platform is moving down and in between them are falling sawblades. Except for this specific part you can rely on the same strategy as in every other moving platform section.

For the last part I can only give tips, just hope to get through this and get a lucky platform appearance.

When the first sawblade falls, you have some time to go through the whole sequent. The second sawbalde comes a little late. However, if you wait a bit too much and then jump, the second sawblade will kill you exactly when you jump.

Try not to use the last platform, but jump immediately after the first sawblade to the safety. For this the platform has to be of course not too far down. But you'll be surprised how far you can get with the "falling down then use double jump" strategy.

However the way I usually do is wait on the upmoving platform (and when too high fall down and use both jump to get enough time for the next platform) for the right opportunity when a sawblade falls and a new platform behind it appears. Then I jump to it and either get lucky with another platform behind or try to jump to the next safe ground.

This section deserves in my opinion to be talked about, since it will, when done right, be a lot easier.

Just walk towards the box. You will end up on top because the box will spin on time. Keep pressing right to speed up the box. Jump just before the gap where the box will spin again and move to the left part of the box. Land on it and keep moving right. (Jump again and land on the left side of the box again and press right again after landing when necessarily.) When done correctly, after that you just have to keep pressing right without stressing about the box spinning one more time.

First of all: If you don't know how to get through the wall, just move right.

And now to the more interesting part: At the end of this "puzzle" you'll have to kill one of your characters to let the other get through. The problem is how to get both safely through the sawblade wall. There are many ways, but again three that I used before.

All of them have their own difficulty, but the fastest is without debate the most difficult because you have to time both characters jumping at once:

Easiest: Let the "Up-Knightly" fall to the right side of a block, then move left to seperate them. (Not too far, or the other dies because the level back there gets deleted and it would fall off the screen). Then jump with both of them separately through the sawblade wall.

Medium: Some may argue that this is easier because you get with both at once through, but you'll have to time the double jump more precise to not accidentally kill one. Move the "Up-Knightly" down with the other and connect them. Then try to get through the gap with both at the same time.

Fastest: Just keep pressing right. Let the "Up-Knightly" fall of the platform and then jump when needed for him. Then pay attention to the other one and jump another time when needed for him to get through.

After you successfully got through and have only one Knightly left, keep moving right until you see a glass wall. Jump into it and then keep just moving right.

Limbo System

When you are here, you can relax. The Limbo-System is going to be a lot easier. Only a few sections wil be a huge problem.

Here the timing may be a little hard. Just go between the two platforms, wait till the left monster is on the right side and jump on his platform. Then jump again and use your double jump to be in air while the right monster makes you room to stand on.

Here the main goal is just to get to the upper platform. You can either try to stay on the lower platform while avoiding the monsters or just wait till the both platforms are in the middle and then jump to one and then the other platform.

The monster at the bottom may disturb you a little. The easiest is just to wait till they move right and only then go to the room. You will have enough time to wait for the single monster to be on the left side and then jump at the moment towards it.

This part is tough and your timing and control must be near perfect. However, I've seen a lot of different timing when to jump to land on the moving platform. The way I do is is when it's moving left and is under the last sawblade to pass. Then I jump only once and then use for every jump no double jumps. Some time it that they jump immediately over the first sawblade and land on the now right moving platform. However, after that trying to use a double jump (except maybe to get to the last not moving platform) will only make it more difficult.

Here Yanna decides to take the things herself on her hands and attack you. However, you can easily jump over her. Here your most helpful thing will be the spinning gun. You can use it to try to kill Yanna and then spin the gun and kill with it the other monsters, but killing Yanna won't be necessarily (but will make things a lot easier).

Be aware that the bullets can kill you too, so always be aware where it's going to shoot.

As said, the most easy way is to first kill Yanna and then only spin the gun and kill the flying monsters. To not use only one bullet when Yanna is there, you can use a little trick to kill her almost instantly: Jump and let yourself fall a little, but before touching the ground jump again. After that you can spam the jump button and the gun will literally turn into a machine gun like this. Time it right that at that moment Yanna is under the gun.

After that you will see something similar to the pause menu. Jump on the red platforms (from bottom the first and third are stable) and use them to get higher.

Then you will see the logo. Jump on top of the letters and use them to get on the side of the logo. Spam the jump button to get on top of it and use it to get higher.

Deep System

Here I will only talk about some sections which I think may cause some to get stuck, but usually here you won't need a guide, since it's obvious what you need to do:

With swiping up, right, down or left Knightly is moving in this direction as long as it can. However, if you're fast, you can change the direction midway. (This isn't necessarily to get through the level.)

Here two rooms with spinning boxes will await you. For the first two boxes you need to get through their upper side. Moving towards the first box from the left won't help you progress and only kill you since the spikes appear so fast after sliding that they will kill you.

Important tip: Knightly doesn't have to move when you swipe for the boxes (and any following spinning objects). When they aren't in the right position, just swipe towards the wall Knighly moved before. You won't move yourself, but the object will spin.

The task here is to let one Knightly die touching the monster at the entrance of the next room. There are many ways to do it. I for example wait till the moving monsters are on top and then swipe down, right, down, right and then up fast. This is in my opinion the most easiest and also fastest way.

I include this because it isn't very obvious what to do to get the tombstone (and you usually want to take it): Swipe in this position up, left, down, right, down and then left.

This bossfight might take a while and the bullets from Yanna might sometimes be unavoidable. My advice would be to follow Yanna whenever possible to kill her fast, but when in doubt better be safe. Don't forget that she moves down at the corners (touching her kills you too) and look for bullets that still fly even though you killed Yanna.

Here you have to use the "Mirrored Knightly" to kill the monster at the entrance to the next room. It will move left when you swipe right and the opposite, but it moves up when you swipe up and move down when you swipe down. General tip: Try to think and plan what you have to swip instead of just trying out. Also: Don't touch with your Knightly it because you'll die.

And if you have kept playing and have seen the credits till the end and are at the main menu, congratulations, you have beaten DERE EVIL.exe!
