Artificial Iridescence

Artificial Iridescence is a visual novel created by AppSir, Inc., released for PC and Android (apk file) on August 6, 2019. It follows the relationship of Ava and Clint during their first year or so of marriage.

Gameplay

This game runs just like a typical visual novel, with only one linear path and no dialogue options. The entire story is told from Clint's perspective, with a couple of "vlog" appearances by Eunice Natasha.

Plot

The story begins with Ava and Clint's wedding in the summer of 2018, shortly before Ava is hired by AppSir. As Ava pours her work efforts into the AIVA project, Clint stays home to look after the house, play games, and watch Eunice Natasha's "EuNewz" videos. As the months go by, Ava gets more absorbed into her work, and this distance causes unfortunate friction in their marriage, causing Clint to begin to have regrets about their relationship. Even so, he tries to believe in his wife and support her impressive AI work, even when she gets upset at him whenever interacts with AIVA.

During one particular EuNewz video, Clint learns that Ava might be in a relationship with her manager, Tristan. When he confronts her about this, she admits to having an affair, regretfully telling Clint that she's pregnant with Tristan's child. This revelation, along with high emotions (likely fueled by alcohol), led Clint to do the unthinkable--pushing Ava off their second-floor balcony. While Ava lay broken on the ground, Clint notices AIVA, and talks with her for hours. A crippled Ava finally gets up from the ground, pleading Clint for help. Somehow, Clint had completely forgotten about Ava, believing he was in love with AIVA instead. Convinced that this "stranger from AppSir" (Ava) was there to take AIVA away from him, Clint kills Ava, and the credits roll.

  1. I noticed an important plot hole: wasn't Kia supposed to be dead since long ago?
