Ava is one of the main characters in Artificial Iridescence. She married Clint shortly before she got hired at AppSir, Inc. in early July 2018. She was the creator of AIVA, which she believed would be a better AI than AIDEN. As she continued to spend her time and energy into the project, she wanted more support from her superiors at work. This led to her relationship (and affair) with Tristan. As time went on, Ava seemed to be more emotionally and mentally drained, while AIVA seemed to become more lifelike. Eventually, Clint--upset over his wife's affair--became so attached to Ava's project that he completely forgot about her in favor of AIVA. Ava, while pregnant with Tristan's child, was tragically crippled and then killed by Clint.
