AIVA is an artificial intelligence featured in Artificial Iridescence. The name is an acronym for Artificially Intelligent Virtual Assistant. This AI was created by Ava, an AppSir, Inc. employee, and Clint's wife. Ava believed that AIVA would be superior to AIDEN, and it seems she had Tristan's full support for the project. Ava was very protective of AIVA, getting upset at Clint whenever he approached her laptop with the AI in it.

As Ava continued her work on AIVA, the AI seemed to become more and more similar to its creator, as evidenced by the fact that even Clint was surprised by the uncanny similarity.  It is interesting, then, to note that as Ava became more emotionally and mentally drained by her work and her relationships, AIVA was becoming more lifelike. It eventually came to the point where Clint (who was very likely not in his right mind, having just pushed his wife off a balcony), after talking to AIVA for hours, literally did not recognize Ava at all. Instead, he believed he was in love with AIVA.
